Group Testing/CogAT & NNAT

Overview

Our program offers Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) and Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT-3) in a group format. We offer these tests between September and January. Our testing sessions for 2025-26 academic year are complete.

The WISC-V is another test accepted by FCPS AAP, offered year round. To schedule this individual testing, with the WISC-V please call our office 703-993-4200. Leave a message if you don’t reach us and we will return your call within 2 business days.

Additional Details

We are aware that FCPS is no longer offering the NNAT or CogAT to their students. They will be giving the Naglieri General Abilities Test (NGAT) instead. However, FCPS shared that they will continue to accept the CogAT/NNAT from our program. If you have additional questions about FCPS AAP policies, please check their website or staff at your child’s school.

These tests are administered on paper/pencil. Second graders answer directly in the booklets. Third grade and up answer in a scantron sheet, which we review later for clarity. We teach the students to use the bubble sheet and monitor their progress throughout. Other than a good rest and healthy breakfast, preparation is discouraged. Our proctors will ensure that students understand what to do on these tests.

Most students are able to take one or both of these tests on our testing dates. Students are not eligible to take the CogAT or NNAT within a 6 month period.
